CPOC Endorses New National Framework for Measuring Quality in Perioperative Care

The Centre for Perioperative Care (CPOC) is pleased to endorse a new framework and set of core indicators for measuring good quality perioperative care, developed by THIS Institute. The framework, informed by robust evidence and extensive stakeholder engagement- including patients, clinicians, and policymakers- provides a consistent, practical approach to evaluating perioperative care across the UK.

This important development aligns closely with CPOC’s mission to improve patient outcomes and safety throughout the surgical pathway. By supporting the adoption of these national indicators, we encourage utilising them in quality improvement initiatives, policy planning, and clinical practice.
