GIRFT Release 18 National Reports

Today Getting it Right First Time (GIRFT) has released 18 national reports and these can be found here. CPOC welcomes the release of these quality improvement reports outlining the national standards for the 18 areas of practice.

GIRFT will be scheduling a range of promotion of the individual reports throughout the autumn months. The 'Anaesthesia and perioperative medicine' report will be publicised in October/November 2021. CPOC will be following the release of this report and please refer to our website and @CPOC_News twitter for further information.

The CPOC Executive said;

'We welcome the publication of the reports and support the strive to reduce unwanted clinical variation to help drive patient care. CPOC believes a multi-specialty and MDT approach is crucial to implement perioperative change into clinical practice. CPOC is working with a number of key stakeholders to improve the perioperative process, reduce unnecessary complications and this report will form a component of that. We look forward to working with the ICS’ and equivalent bodies across the four nations to help drive these changes and recognize that ongoing data collection will be key to this.’
