NHS England National Medical Director endorses CPOC’s ‘green paper’ project

On 9 February the Royal College of Anaesthetists hosted ‘Anaesthesia and COVID- One Year On’  - a virtual event attended by over two hundred of the College’s members and key partners across health and social care, government, and Parliament.  Attendees heard from a variety of speakers, including the Baroness Jolly, NHSE National Medical Director Professor Stephen Powis, and College President Professor Ravi Mahajan. You can watch all of their talks here.

We are delighted to say that at the event, Professor Stephen Powis, NHSE National Medical Director thanked the Centre for Perioperative Care for the work that we are leading and emphasised that perioperative care is at the heart of the Secretary of State’s commitment to ‘build back better’ after the pandemic and core to the aspirations in the NHS People Plan. He also welcomed the work that CPOC is leading to develop the UK’s first ever perioperative care ‘green paper.’  To help us develop our green paper, please visit our webpage here to see opportunities to be involved.
